Maneesh Gobin declared during the press conference of the National Communication Committee on the Covid-19 that there is no shortage of potatoes and onions in Mauritius. He stated that the Agricultural Marketing Board is delivering them daily to registered dealers and supermarkets. He also said that there is a hoarding process which is being done by some dealers in order to create an artificial shortage. He announced that the authorities would be very severe in their actions towards those who are accumulating, stocking and selling those items at a higher price.
